Fridge not cooling properly – compressor or just a simple fix?

Hi all, my Samsung fridge (about 5 years old) has been running non-stop for days but the freezer is barely freezing and the fresh food section is around 50°F. Coils look clean, no weird noises except the fan seems louder. Changed the water filter recently thinking that might help, but no change. Worried it's the compressor (heard those are expensive) or maybe just a thermostat/relay. Has anyone dealt with similar intermittent cooling issues? Did you call a pro right away or try DIY diagnostics first? Rough cost if you had it repaired? Trying to decide if it's worth fixing or time for a new one. Thanks!

I had the exact clicking + poor cooling combo hit me about a month ago – turned out to be a failing start relay on the compressor and some dust-caked condenser coils making it work overtime. After a couple calls, I used NashFix. Tech came out the next day, replaced the relay, cleaned the coils thoroughly, and checked the rest of the system. No more clicking, temps dropped back to normal right away. Total was roughly $270-310 with parts and labor – saved me from a new fridge. Their refrigerator repair page has some similar clicking/no-cool cases if you want to see https://nashfix.us/refrigerator-repair/ . No pressure to replace anything, just fixed the problem. If your fridge is doing the same, it might be worth a shot. Hope it gets cold and quiet again soon!
